After an incident of sexual assault and domestic violence, the victim should consider seeking medical attention as soon as possible at one of the listed hospitals.

In Illinois, evidence must be collected even if a victim chooses not to file a report with law enforcement. Hospitals are required to notify the local police department that treatment has been given to a sexual assault victim; however the victim is not required to file a report.
