Due to a water main break, Oakton College classes at the Skokie campus will be held remotely to the extent possible, and services will be available virtually through Sunday, Feb. 16. All events and activities are canceled, and the campus will not be accessible for use of the Learning Common or other in-person resources. The Des Plaines campus will operate normally.
Note: The College is closed on Monday, Feb. 17, in observance of Presidents’ Day. Normal operations at the Skokie campus are expected to resume Tuesday, Feb. 18.
Classes facilitated at the Skokie campus will be held virtually Feb. 14-16 to the extent possible, and more information will be communicated by your instructor via email and/or your D2L shell located in the myOakton student portal. In addition, instructors will reach out to students regarding the status of classes scheduled at off-campus locations, including clinicals and adult/continuing education courses.
Members of the facilities department, Oakton Police Department and other essential personnel should report to campus, as determined by their supervisor. Supervisors will contact essential personnel to advise them of assignments. All other Skokie employees should work remotely to the extent possible. Supervisors should exercise flexibility for employees with additional childcare responsibilities due to K-12 closures.
